Universal Epic Universe Theme Park Opening May 22, 2025
If you know me, you know I’m a huge fan of Universal Studios Orlando. My family were season passholders and we know Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure parks inside out! On May 22, 2025, a brand new park will open – Epic Universe – featuring five immersive lands. Here is a breakdown of what you can find in each land and how you can get tickets to visit this extraordinary park.
Celestial Park
This futuristic-themed area serves as the main entryway to the park, connecting the four other immersive lands. You’ll find thrilling rides, entertainment, dining, shopping, plus Universal Helios Grand Hotel– a 500-room luxury hotel located inside Epic Universe.
Major Attractions
Stardust Racers: A dual-launch roller coaster that simulates the feeling of racing through the stars. The coaster features high-speed inversions and near-miss moments, making it one of Epic Universe’s most thrilling rides.
Constellation Carousel: A unique, floating carousel that rotates with illuminated celestial creatures, bringing a magical, otherworldly experience to guests.
Food Options
Atlantic: An undersea culinary fantasy serving dishes like the King Oyster Mushroom Ceviche and golden-brown seared sea bass.
The Blue Dragon Pan-Asian Restaurant: Enjoy authentic Pan-Asian cuisine as dazzling neon dragons chase across the walls or curl up with a cocktail at The Tiger Bar.
The Oak & Star Tavern: Specializing in barbecue offerings for a hearty meal on the go.
Celestiki: A tiki bar serving mixed drinks in a celestial-themed atmosphere.
Super Nintendo World
Closest to my heart (and my childhood) is Super Nintendo World. This immersive area brings the vibrant worlds of Nintendo to life, offering guests interactive experiences, attractions, dining, and shopping inspired by beloved franchises.
Key Attractions
Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge: An augmented reality dark ride that places guests in the driver’s seat, racing through iconic tracks from the Mario Kart series. Utilizing AR technology, riders can experience the thrill of racing alongside Mario and friends.
Donkey Kong Country: This area features “Mine Cart Madness,” a roller coaster designed to simulate the thrilling mine cart levels from the Donkey Kong games. The coaster utilizes innovative “boom coaster” technology, creating the illusion of jumping gaps on the track.
Dining Options
Toadstool Cafe: A themed restaurant offering a variety of dishes inspired by the Mushroom Kingdom. Guests can enjoy burgers and other entrees in a whimsical setting resembling Toad’s house.
The Bubbly Barrel: Designed to resemble a gigantic barrel transformed into a thatched-roof hut, it offers guests a selection of sweet treats and tropical beverages.
Fun Extras
Power-Up Bands: Feel like you are really in a Super Mario game by collecting coins, complete challenges, and check your rankings with your interactive Power-Up Band.
Meet & Greets: Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Toad will all be available for character meet-and-greets throughout the day!
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic
This is the third Harry Potter-themed land in Universal Orlando, and will transport guests into Paris in the 1920s (from Fantastic Beasts) & the British Ministry of Magic circa the late 1990s. Plus, you’ll find amazing new interactive wand experiences scattered throughout the streets of wizarding Paris!
Attractions and Features:
Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry: The motion-based dark ride that takes guests on an adventure through the Ministry of Magic. Set shortly after Voldemort’s defeat, the ride features characters like Harry, Ron, Hermione, and a new house-elf named Higgledy, as they pursue Dolores Umbridge, who attempts to escape during her trial.
Le Cirque Arcanus: A full-scale theater experience inspired by the circus from “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.” This live show will feature performers, puppetry, and special effects, enriching the immersive environment.
Dining and Retail
Café L’air De La Sirène: Inspired by the magical ambiance of the wizarding world, this café provides a unique dining atmosphere. The Bierauberre Crêpe, a Butterbeer-inspired dessert, is a not to miss dessert.
Bar Moonshine: A wizarding tavern offering a variety of magical concoctions and beverages.
Cosme Acajor Baguettes Magique: Ready for a new wand? The shop will feature interactive wands that can be used throughout The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, as well as in Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade.
How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk
Visitors will be transported into the vibrant world of the How to Train Your Dragon franchise. Set between the events of How to Train Your Dragon 2 and How to Train Your Dragon 3, this themed land brings the island of Berk to life, featuring dragons, Vikings, and a host of interactive experiences.
Main Attractions
Hiccup’s Wing Gliders: A thrilling roller coaster that simulates dragon flight, offering guests a high-speed adventure over the island.
Fyre Drill: A family-friendly boat ride through Berk’s rugged terrain and magical landscapes.
Viking Training Camp: A play area for young adventurers to practice dragon-handling skills and interact with dragon-themed elements.
Dining Highlights:
Mead Hall: A themed dining venue where guests can enjoy “Yaknog,” a specialty drink made from malted chocolate, cinnamon, and whipped cream.
Spit Fyre Grill: A casual dining spot offering a variety of grilled dishes in a rustic setting.
Dark Universe
This area is inspired by Universal’s classic monster films, offering a modern twist on these iconic characters. Dark Universe is set in Darkmoor Village, where Victoria Frankenstein, the great-great-granddaughter of Henry Frankenstein, continues her family’s legacy of creating monsters. Her latest experiment, intended to control legendary creatures, backfires when Dracula leads a revolt, unleashing chaos.
Top Attractions
Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment: A cutting-edge dark ride featuring animated figures of classic monsters like Dracula, the Wolf Man, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, and Frankenstein’s Monster.
Curse of the Werewolf: A thrilling roller coaster that combines spinning and launched elements, immersing riders in the legend of the werewolf.
Where to Eat
Das Stakehaus: This unique dining venue is themed as an old inn and dining hall built over ancient catacombs, adorned with vampire artwork and artifacts. Dishes like Fish on a Stake and “Blood” Orange Chicken Sandwich will be fan favorites.
The Burning Blade Tavern: What makes this a unique spot? The mill atop the restaurant erupts into flames every 20 minutes!
